Hajduk won the final preparatory match ahead of the continuation of the football season. They beat Zrinjski from Mostar 2:1 in the third-place match at the Memorial Tournament Andrej Ankovic in Gabela, and Franck Ohandza scored two goals. Hajduk played a really good match on a very difficult and extremely muddy pitch, created a lot of chances and was a much better opponent, so the last match before the start of the spring part of the season was successfully concluded.
"We played again under difficult conditions, but we saw a good match with a lot of tempo. The players who started the match played for all 90 minutes. It's important to me that no one got hurt, that we played well and ultimately won. There were plenty of good things, given the demanding pitch on which we played. In both games we evenly gave chance to all players and we saw what we were interested in ahead of the continuation of the season. We have eight more days until the first match against Cibalia in Vinkovci and we will do everything to prepare well for that match and be at our best" said coach Zeljko Kopic after the game and added:
"I am generally satisfied with most of the things we did during the preparation period, we had some minor injuries, but I believe that it will be dealt with very quickly and well. I am happy that Marko Futacs will soon join us in training, Gustavo Carbonieri is also recovering well and I hope everyone will soon be ready to play. We have a lot of potential and a lot of work, but I believe we will be at our best in the spring.
