Today's match with Osijek that took place at Poljud stadium was really exciting, many goals were scored, both teams had many more chances to score and the final result was really uncertain until the end. The most important is that Hajduk beat Osijek 3:2 and continued a home game winning streak, this season they beat all their opponents at Poljud. Osijek managed to return after they conceded two goals but in the end, thanks to a hard engamement and effort, Hajduk won the match. Our defender Stefan Simić said:
"We started the match in the right way, we were leading 2:0 and playing aggressively. We all knew what was on stake and that we need to face up to the pressure. We complicated the match, which was fault of our own, but in the end we showed a true team spirit and we ended the match in the right way".
Hajduk fought until the last second to keep the 3:2 lead after they had to continue the match with 10 men because Jairo was sent off in the 73rd minute.
"It was the crucial moment and we showed that we are all together, we fought hard for one another. That decisive goal was a result of our communion. We wanted to win. After 2:2, we didn't give up, we fought until the end and we showed what we are worth" said Simić.
