"Finally! I could hardly wait for the moment to return to Hajduk." That was the first reaction of Hrvoje Milić after he signed a three year contract with Hajduk and joined coach Damir Burić' team.

Milić came to Split from Rostov, Russia, after he managed to end a contract, which was the final obstacle for fulfilling his long time wish, returning to Hajduk. Milić left Poljud in 2009, first to Djurgarden, than to Croatian Istra 1961, and finally to Rostov.

"Since the first contact with Hajduk chairman Marin Brbić I was determined to return to Hajduk. It took some time to finish the deal, but eventually it ended up with a positive outcome, that's the most important."

What are your ambitions with Hajduk?

"My ambitions are really high, and I'm strongly optimistic about it. I see that Hajduk has young, tallented team, we can do some big things. First goal is to pass Liberec, and advance to the Europa League, and I'm sure we can aim high in the Croatian championship."

How high?

"Well, I would say we can even go for the title, because Dinamo and Rijeka don't look too impressive at the season's start. I see that this new Hajduk is a team with a - sort of speak - head and a tail, which can play smart and patiently.  You can see a coach's hand in Hajduk play, Burić did some excellent things with this young squad. I have spoken with our coach twice, and I like his ideas and ambitions about Hajduk."

Hrvoje Milić will have number 3 on his jersey, Hajduk now need to do all the paperworks to have him playing against Rijeka. Milić will be a strong card in Hajduk's attempt to advance to the Europa League, and fans were thrilled to see him signed..

"I can hardly wait to run out at full Poljud," said Hrvoje Milić in his first interview for hajduk.hr.
