Dante Stipica was in Sofia with Hajduk a year ago, when he was our goalkeeper against Levski (both legs) and when Hajduk reached the UEL QR3. Hajduk is now again in Sofia and the head coach Željko Kopić and his team are once more hoping for the next qualifying round, while Dante is also hoping for the same thing, this time with a team from Sofia. Not Slavia, Hajduk's opponent in the QR2, or Levski, Hajduk's last season opponent, but CSKA Sofia, his new team.
Dante welcomed his ex team last night at the hotel in Sofia and wished them luck in tomorrow's match against Slavia. His former teammates wished him luck too as his team is travelling to Austria today for a match against Admira, following the first-leg in Sofia in which the home team won 3:0. CSKA stadium is very close to the stadium Vasil Levski where Slavia will host Hajduk tomorrow.
In comparison to the last season, apart from Stipica, goalkeepers Karlo Letica and Ivo Grbić are also no longer Hajduk players, while the two new goalkeepers Josip Posavec and Tomislav Duka are currently injured. That's why young Marin Ljubić will have his Europa League debut and a support from their former teammate means a lot to the team.
