Captain Zoran Nižić again scored at Gradski vrt stadium, this time in the first match with Osijek. After his assist for goal in the last match against Slavia, Nižić has now scored a header after Adam Gyurcso's corner kick.

"I wish someone else scored and we won. I'm sad for the defeat, but we all have to recover after this".

After the lead, Hajduk lost concentration and Osijek took advantage of it and turned the result into their favor and finally won 4:1.

"It was not good. We even entered the match right and scored, and then we had the "blackout" of five minutes where they scored twice, got courage and controlled the rest of the match. The reaction after our goal was not right. We practically ran back into Duka's zone, and they scored both goals from our mistakes. It was hard to get back after that".

An analysis of the match in Osijek will suely follow, but the thoughts are already in Sofia, where Hajduk will play against Slavia in UEL QR2 second - leg match. Hajduk defeated Slavia 1:0 in the first-leg in Split.

"Of course it is not pleasant to lose 4:1, but it is only the first round. Also, there will be no euphoria after wins. We need to analyze the match and see what was not good, and there were many bad things. We all know it was not good. There is not much time for regrets, the match against Slavia is already on Thursday and we have to be much better. We have to give our best and progress to the next qualifying round" concluded the captain.
