
Former Croatian Football Federation President Vlatko Marković has passed away early Monday morning in Zagreb's Rebro hospital.
Marković was born on January 1 1937, and took his first playing steps in Iskra of Bugojno and Čelik of Zenica. In 1958 he transferred to Dinamo, and later played also for the Viennese teams Austria and Rapid. He won sixteen caps for Yugoslavia and took part in the 1962 World Cup, when the team finished fourth.
His coaching career took him to Standard Liege, Nice, Hajduk, Dinamo and Rapid. In 1993 and 1994 he was the national team coach of Croatia.
