Nicholas Leandro Velez, Argentinian player born July 04, 1990 signed a contract with Hajduk today and joined our first team for their winter preparations.

"I'm happy for having joined Hajduk and I look forward to winter training camp in Turkey. When I received an offer from Hajduk, I had no doubts, this was my chance to play in Europe. I learned immediately that it is a great club of rich history and I'm glad that one of the players, Julian Alberto Velazquez, comes from my country too" said Velez.

He and Hajduk signed a two and a half year long contract and he chose a shirt number 9 that always sets high expectations.

"I know that expectations are always high, I was always either number 9 or 19, so when I realized that Hajduk's number 9 is now available, I was happy to take it".

These are his expectations for the remaining part of the season:

"I hope that my good games will help the club. Our goal is to position as highest as possible in the championship while we are also playing Cup semi - finals, so there are many challanges ahead of us. Who knows, it may happen that in my first season in Hajduk I already get a chance to play Champions League".

Nicolas Leandro Velez will be presented to the press on Thursday at Poljud.

Today, Hajduk also extended the contract with our player Marko Bencun.
