This is the victory of Hajduk youth. It's not just a figure of speech, but a fact when we talk about team coached by Damir Burić.
It's hard to find a roster so young in any team in European competition.
In the rematch against Estonian side, the average age was slightly above 21. When we analyze Hajduk roster from Dugopolje, there were no players older than 26, the oldest one is Milović, followed by Kalinić and Nižić with 25 years of age, and 23-years olds Caktaš and Ohandza.
No less than six first team members are under 20, and two of them are even under legal age (Balić and Vlašić).
This is the whole team, with age in parenthesis.
Kalinić (25), Tudor (19), Milović (26), Nižić (25), Pejić (20), Balić (17), Caktaš (23), Maloku (19), Vlašić (17), Roguljić (19), Ohandza (23).
Let's see what coach Burić says about it.
"We must not forget these are the boys of 18 and 19 years of age. Just try to remember what we were like in their age. They are young, but played good, and I can't nothing but to praise them. I don't want to forget those who are a little bit older, like Caktaš, Franck, Milović, Nižić and Kalinić, but I really don't want to emphasize anyone. That is a proof that everything works really fine in this team, because I can't put any individual ahead of the others. There will be some ups and downs in their plays, we must be prepared for that, but we need to keep working."
