Hajduk defeated Istra 1961 in Pula thanks to a great game and thus came in second place on the championship table. Coach Zeljko Kopic successfully led Hajduk in his debut match while Hajduk also had another debut, namely the first team played the first official game of this season in the new away red - blue kit.

After one month, striker Ahmed Said Said returned to the squad and scored the goal at Aldo Drosina stadium.

"We played an excellent match, especially the first half when we scored three goals. In the second half, we might have been better, but the hosts also played better and was looking for their chance. We fought till the end, we won and we can now turn to the next games against Osijek. Scoring a goal means much to me because of a month long hard work. I trained every day and wanted to get back in the best way".

Hajduk's midfielder Toma Basic played a very good match, took part in the action for the first goal and several times challenged Istra defenders with his strikes and crosses.

"We are all happy for this win that really means a lot to us. It is true that they are in certain problems, but it is always difficult to play against Istra away. We are happy with the first half, we played great and scored three goals. In the second half, we wanted to keep up like that, but they changed the formation and improved their game. This is the way we need to go further and try to do something".
