"Your impressions of the season?"
For the first part of the season, I don't have any particular complaints. We were leading for a while, if there was more luck, we could have kept that position. In Europe, we came to the playoffs, where we were eliminated by Slovan Liberec. In the first game, we missed our chances, we hit posts twice. Too bad, we had no luck. We were very good in the League, in some matches against Dinamo, we could win more points. In the second part of the season, we didn't play that well, which was expected due to the fact that in the winter transfer window we lost Caktas, who was our best player, Milovic, the most experienced defensive player, Balic and Maglica. We practically transferred only regular starters, which was then followed by injuries of Vlasic, Ohandza and Bencun.
"Are you satisfied with how you played? You were awarded the best MAXtv First League player, what does this award mean to you?"
I am satisfied with how I played, even though it can always be better. As for results, I am not so, but many circumstances have affected it. The award for the best player means a lot, especially as it comes from sports journalists who rated games throughout the season. Obviously, in a lot of games I was good when I managed to win this award. It encourages me to give my best in the future.
"Opponents say that you are quite tough to control?"
I'm glad they have such an opinion of me. This season, I felt very good, I was optimally fit, which is why I played well.
"What do you think you should improve in your game?"
Maybe I should more quickly pass the ball because modern football requires it. In Europe, the game is much faster than in our League, so I had to work on that. I should also improve my explosiveness, although lately I've been working on it a lot.
"What are your favorite and toughest moments of the season?"
A victory over Dinamo is always a nice moment, when we defeated them, there was a good mood in the team. It meant a lot to us, because this season we had no luck against them, in every League match, we outplayed them. The most difficult moment for me was when we lost against Dinamo in the final seconds in Maksimir, although we were better than them the whole game. Also, the two Cup matches against Dinamo were really tough for the team.
"This season, you worked under the supervision of coach Buric, he gave you a lot of freedom in the game, especially in the second half of the season. What are your impressions of him?"
He's a great psychologist to us players and we can talk about everything with him. He always tries to understand us. He is the real modern coach that supports us players and helps us. He gave me a lot of freedom in the game, before every game he told me that I have the freedom to play, which suited me. I prefer having such freedom so that I can look for the ball all over the pitch but it is logical that I also had to do defense tasks that the coach asked for.
"Who was your favorite teammate on the pitch?"
I functioned perfectly with Caktas. He was our best player in the first part of the season, a modern type of player with whom it was easy to play. I believe that he will have a successful career abroad.
"In the last round, Hajduk had the youngest team in the history. What do you think about these young players and their potential?"
Hajduk has very promising young players who only need time and careful plan on how much and how often they will play. I watch them training and I see great potential. I hope they will be used in the best possible way, so that in the upcoming years Hajduk can create a very good team. They are trying and working hard and have talent. Of course that more experienced players always have to support them to develop properly.
"You now have national team matches, against Spain in St. Gallen on May 29, followed by the the Kirin Cup in Japan?"
We're playing against one of the best teams in the world and I hope to get a few minutes and play against them. After that, we go to Japan to play Kirin Cup and then I should join Hajduk summer preparations that are starting on June 8.
