On the Supervisory Board meeting that was held yesterday, it was decided that Hajduk and the Association Nas Hajduk (Our Hajduk) will strenghten their partnership. Nas Hajduk will thus get involved into working with members in order to increase memberships and funds that the club gets out of membership fees, which was approved by the club's Supervisory Board.
Back in 2011, when Hajduk was on the verge of bankruptcy, the main club's stockholder, the City of Split, decided to let Nas Hajduk Association organize the first democratic elections for seven out of nine club's Supervisory Board members. The outcome of that decision is that Hajduk nowadays has a positive balance and professional management. The club has become a symbol of financial and mananegment transparency in Croatian football and beyond.
"We will keep working on financial stability and improvement of working conditions of the coaching staff in order to create prerequisits for our first team to have great sports results and we are also going to keep developing players through our Youth Academy. Our Membership Department made a significant progress and we now have more than 15 000 members, but we know that it can still be improved, which requires daily effort and we lack sources for necessary marketing investments. Nas Hajduk is therefore going to actively participate in the process of membership development. It will help us earn more and as a consequence of possible increase of membership base, we can expect marketing revenue growth" said Marin Brbic, President of the Board.
This won't change any of the members' rights - the fee remains the same and the money goes to Hajduk. The only change refers to the accounting treatment, since the income from membership fees will be treated as members-fans' loan with the final goal to use this revenue for club recapitalization. In this way, Nas Hajduk would enable that each supporter of Hajduk participates the process of gaining club stocks through Nas Hajduk Association.
"We have more than 15 000 members but there are 30 000 supporters at the stadium on important matches, so there is a lot of room for improvement. Politics almost caused club bakruptcy and the club was saved only thanks to the new professional and expert club management model, but only if the fans become the main stockholder we can be sure that no one ever would use Hajduk for their personal or group interests and for profit" said Ivan Rilov, Secretary of Nas Hajduk.
