Much of the merit for winning the biggest Croatian derby belongs to Hajduk's midfielders that successfully kept control of the game in the middle of the pitch. Josip Radosevic was particularly motivated.

"We came to Maksimir with great expectations, we had a very good and positive sequence of results behind us and we all believed that we could continue like that in the biggest Croatian derby. We work in silence, calmly and well, and that's why it returned to us on the field" said the midfielder, and once again commented the match:

"Each derby carries certain rivalry, it is almost always a tough match, but we have been better this time, we dominated in the middle of the field and deserved to win three points. It is important to create a positive atmosphere, in every game we enter without pressure, we are in a good series and we want to continue like this" Radosevic concluded.

Josip Juranovic did his work on the right with a lot of responsibility and discipline, it was one of his best performances in the last few games.

"I think my game is not as important as the fact that we have won the derby at Maksimir. It is their first defeat in the season and I hope it will not be the last one. In the first half, the game took place mostly in the middle of the field, and in the second half we played better, a few good counterattacks and opportunities. Franck Ohandza used one of them, Karlo Letica then defended several of their attempts and we deserved to come back home as winners" Juranovic added.
