In the first - leg match of the Second Qualifying Round of the Europa League, Hajduk played 2:2 against the Romanian club CSMS Iasi. Franck Ohandza in the 48th minute and Ahmed Said Said in the 90 +4 minute scored goals for Hajduk.
After the draw in Romania, Hajduk's coach Marijan Pušnik said:
" I want to congratulate the home team on a good game and to the fans on sports and fair support of the teams. My players showed great character and they believed that they can score a goal, so we were finally rewarded for that. I told the players to believe that they can win as much as I believe in them. The result is rather realistic, but it's just the first half. Iasi will have a tough match in Split!.
After the match, Nikola Vlasic, captain of Hajduk in the match, said:
"In the first half, we were not on the expected level. We agreed that we're going to try to score. We played much better in the second half and deserved a draw. Iasi surprised us, we knew what they wanted, a little carelessness in defense has costed us a lot, but we managed to come back in the match. The coach encouraged us that we can make a come back in the second half and we've done so".
Second leg match is scheduled for the next Thursday in Split.
