Unfortunately, the situation we are in, a series of bad results and the fact that we are far behind our opponent at the top of the table has caused us to look for other solutions. We wish him success in his further career, and he will always be a dear and welcome guest of Hajduk"

"Today is a sad day for me because I'm leaving Hajduk. The Club has decided so and I respect it, although I feel that I have the strength and energy to find a way out of this situation. I am grateful and it was a pleasure to be coaching Hajduk. It was an honor and I am proud of it. I want to thank all the players, the people in the Club, the coaching staff, the citizens that wholeheartedly accepted my family and me. I was very happy here, and I want to particularly thank the supporters. It's impossible to thank them properly for the love and emotion they have given me. Thanks to Hajduk, who gave me a chance. It's never easy to leave, but we have reached an agreement by which the Club is not damaged. Today I say goodbye, but one part of me will always belong to Hajduk. Hajduk lives forever!"
