Ante Palaversa made his official debut for the first team in the match with Slavia at Poljud. The eighteen-year-old midfielder played 53 minutes in Europa League 2nd qualifying round first leg match and in the first half he had a great chance saved by Slavia's goalkeeper Petkov.
"This is the dream come true, thanks to the coaches for this opportunity. I was a little nervous at first, but this was my first official game and immediately I played it surrounded by 26,000 people" Palaversa said after the match.
Hajduk travels to Bulgaria with 1:0 advantage.
"We were hoping for a more convincing win, we dominated in the last 15 minutes of the game, we could have scored at least one more goal, but it is important that we won. In the second-leg they will have to catch the result and surely it will be a different game".
The supporters at Poljud rewarded him with a supportive applause when he was leaving the game.
"I want to thank them, it really means a lot to me. Obviously they respect us young players, I hope we will pay them back for that in the best possible way" concluded Palaversa.
