At the end of the first week of mid-season preparations, Hajduk played a friendly match against NK Varteks from Varazdin at Poljud and won 5:0. This was this year's first match and it was attended by many supporters of Hajduk and Varteks, in total there were around 5000 spectators.
Hajduk thus won the first match of the year 2018. Ardian Ismajli scored for 1:0, Ahmed Said Said for 2:0, Hugo Almeida for 3:0, while a young Franko Kovacevic, who has joined the first team recently, scored two last goals and set the final result. It was a nice introduction for the winter camp that awaits the first team next week, where they are going to stay for 16 days and have many training sessions and play three friendly matches.
