Marko Futacs extended a contract with HNK Hajduk by the summer of 2019! Thetop striker of the last season's HT First Division will play for Hajduk for at least one and a half more year.

"I am very happy to have extended the contract with Hajduk. It is very important to me that the Club believed in me, which is why I am extremely grateful. I look forward to staying in Split. Now I'm completely calm and I'm training and my return on field is approaching. I believe I'll be back stronger than I was!" said Futacs after the extension of his contract.

Futacs had a contract until the summer of 2018, and now he has extended it for another year. Since signing for Hajduk in the summer of 2016, he has collected a total of 33 appearances and scored 22 goals with four additional assists. In the 2016/17 season,  with 18 goals, he was the top scorer of the league, and he was also chosen as in the best team of he league, winning the Trophy Footballer award.

Already in his first season of playing for Hajduk, he set a record. In the past 25 years, no Hajduk players scored that many goals in their debut season.

The last match that he played was against Dinamo in August, when he injured his knee that was successfully operated. Marko is currently in the process of rehabilitation and recovery, yesterday he arrived in Split, and today he will join teammates and coach Zeljko Kopic in the afternoon training within the winter preparations. We believe he will successfully return to what he knows best, which is scoring.
