Hajduk and Varteks played a friendly match at Poljud today in a friendly atmosphere at Poljud in front of some 5000 spectators. Hajduk won 5:0 and it was the first in a series of friendly matches that Hajduk will play until the beginning of the spring part of the season.

"First of all, I would like to emphasize the satisfaction of the first week of preparation. It is important to me that the players played a serious match, that regardless of the tiredness, they met all the demands and had the right approach. Thanks to all the people who came at Poljud, I'm glad that there was a positive atmosphere at the stands. We have given a chance to our youth, I think everyone who came to the stadium can be satisfied" said after coach Zeljko Kopic after the game.

A few words about players who did not play today's match.

"Hysen Memolla has a problem from before, which is taken care for by our medical service. Andre Fomitschow also had minor problems and we did not want to risk with him and the captain Zoran Nizic. There was no need for that".

Hajduk has finished the first part of the preparations in Split. Now they go to Turkey where they are staying for 16 days on a winter training camp and will play three friendly matches there. The coach is satisfied with the preparations so far.

"It was fine in general, it is important that there are no injuries and major problems. It is very important to me how they work on training sessions. In Turkey, emphasis will be on training, we will have high-quality opponents and working conditions, and we will do everything to make the best out of our stay. I will do my best to transfer my idea of ​​the game to the players, to have the right tactical approach, and  that from Vinkovci we continue to present high quality football. Ambitions are to make maximum of these preparations. Every game that follows us is the most important and we will act like this from the beginning of the spring part of the season" he concluded.
