Coach Zeljko Kopic was successful in the first match in which he led Hajduk. His squad deserved a 3:1 win against Istra 1961. Hajduk played fantastic first half and completely dominated the game with three goals scored and as many as 15 shoots on goal, of which 10 on target.

"We knew it will be extremely difficult to play here, I'm absolutely proud of my squad and the way they played. We played great 45 minutes, and after that we tried to keep the stability and balance in the game. We were aware that Istra would take over the risk. I know how hard it was for the guys and ultimately I'm happy with the three points won. Congratulations to Istra for everything they do in the difficult moments they are in" said Hajduk's head coach after the match.
