Hajduk's chronicler Jurica Gizdic received special recognition of the Croatian Olympic Committee for outstanding contribution to Croatian sports journalism, as an excellent sports historian and publicist.

Jurica Gizdic is our most prolific writer of sports theme books and he has written as many as 68 books. In the year 2015, he was awarded the highest State Award for Sport "Franjo Bucar award". As the official chronicler of Hajduk, he wrote 16 books dedicated to the Club, for which he received numerous recognitions and awards, such as the Award of the City of Split, the Award of Solin and Split-Dalmatia County.

Croatian Olympic Committe Special recognition was awarded to him for his exceptional contribution to the Croatian sports journalism, as in 2013 he published the book "Croatia and Olympic medals," after which in 2014 he wrote "Blacksmiths of Croatian Olympic medals", and in 2015 "Croatian female athletes at the Olympic Games".

As a conclusion of the whole cycle and years of research, this year Jurica Gizdic published a capital work of Croatian sport nonfiction "Croatian Olympians and medalists" in which he collected biographies and photos of 933 Croatian athletes who competed in the Olympic Games from Paris in 1900 to Rio de Janeiro in 2016. Thanks to this valuable book, Croatian sporting heritage will be preserved, and thanks to Internet and its future English translation, it will be available to everyone.

Dear Jure, congratulations on yet another prize!
