Heart of Hajduk, annualy awarded by Torcida to the Hajduk player of the year, has gone to Goran Jozinović. The award ceremony was held during the half time of the Torcida Cup final, before a crowd of five thousand in Vukovarska Street...

"I am overjoyed," said Jozinović, "and only gradually becoming aware of what I have just experienced. I would say nothing if I say I am honored. Many players have made their mark wearing a Hajduk shirt, but only a select few have been awarded this great achievement."

Jozinović goes on: "I have played at over forty thousand fans, many times at a packed Poljud and important away games, but I must admit I never felt such stage fright as just now in Vukovarska. I think this goes to recognize all those who supported me through tough times, and can also serve as a message to young players: keep working hard and never give up fighting for what the white shirt means to us all!"

The year before, Heart of Hajduk was awarded to the Hajduk football academy, and the preceding year to the legendary Tomislav Ivić, posthumously. The last Hajduk player to actually hold the award was Senijad Ibričić.
