Josip Posavec is a new Hajduk goalkeeper, a 22-year-old Croatia U-21 international has come to a one-year loan from the Italian club Palermo, recently relegated from the Serie A. Josip has successfully performed medical examinations in Split and today he signed a contract with Hajduk. Posavec will wear a jersey number 70.

For the past two years, Josip had been a player of Palermo, where he came from Inter Zaprešić. In that period he recorded a total of 52 appearances, of which 30 in Serie A. He was born in Varaždin, and in the younger age he was a goalkeeper of Inter Zaprešić.

Posavec was a regular member of the youth Croatian national teams and for the U-21 team he collected nine appearances.

"The first impressions are more than positive, from the moment when I was offered to come to Hajduk I was more than happy to accept it and I am very satisfied that it is finally realized. I'm looking forward to joining the rest of the team and I have to thank Palermo for a great football experience. I hope that with this experience I will contribute to the team, club and these wonderful fans. I believe that together we can do something concrete this season. I know that there is also Tomislav Duka, I want to praise him because I followed the First Croatian League after leaving to Italy. I am glad that I have a great competitor so that none of us can relax and I'm sure we will both give our best" said Posavec, who joins the team in Pohorje where Hajduk is in the middle of preparation for the new season.
