Kresimir Vlajcevic, CFF Disciplinary judge for MAXtv First League decided that Hajduk's player Jefferson de Jesus Santos should pay 3000 HRK fine for having been sent off last Saturday in the match against Dinamo. Namely, Jefferson got his first yellow card in the 63rd minute, while in the 90th minute he was shown second yellow card as he allegedly commited a foul on Rog (Dinamo). The referee Ante Vucemilovic Simunovic sent Jefferson off.
Vlajcevic explained "in the decision - making process, the judge did analysis of match TV record and player's appeal, so it was taken into consideration that the committed foul was not serious and did not cause consequences, which is why this fine is deemed appropriate".
Although the decision does not explicitly say it, Jefferson is not going to get automatic suspension for red card shown to him and he can join the team for the upcoming game against Split, this Saturday at Poljud, kick - off 17:00.
Other two first team players, Hrvoje Milic and Fran Tudor are suspended for that match due to accumulated yellow cards.
"This decision doesn't surprise me because the video clearly shows that Jefferson did not commit a foul at all, especially not that kind of foul to get the second yellow card and to be sent off. This proves that we had right to criticize refereeing" said Marin Brbic, President of Hajduk.
