Hajduk beat Osijek 3:2 at Poljud, in the match that was completely tight and suspenseful until the last seconds. Hajduk was leading 2:0 but already at the beginning of the second half, Osijek scored an equalizer. Jairo scored the decisive goal on Jradi's assist in the 72 minute, after which he emotionally celebrated and hit the corner flag with his feet, for which he was shown the second yello card and sent off. Hajduk finished the match with 10 men.
"It as a tough match, we fought until the end and it was worth it, this victory is really important to us. I'm always happy if I can help my team to win, I would also like to apologize to my teammates for leaving them before the end of the match, they had to continue with 10 men. It for sure as not my intention to be sent off, I celebrated the goal emotionally and hit the corner flag without thinking about consequences. Apologies to the coach as well, for this game but also for the next one that I will miss because of this red card" said Jairo.
