Jairo de Macedo da Silva is a new Hajduk player, a 26-year-old forward came to Hajduk's summer base in Pohorje from Greek PAOK and signed a two-year contract with an option to extend it for one more year. The Brazilian striker will wear a jersey number 21 in Hajduk.
For the last three years, Jairo was a member of PAOK, from where he went on loan twice, to PAS Giannino and Sheriff Tiraspol. He previously played for Slovak Trencin and Brazilian Madureiro. He was born in Rio de Janeiro and started his career at Botafoga.
The Brazilian played a total of 22 games for PAOK, scored two goals and added four assists. On loan at PAS Giannina he played 29 matches and scored four goals, adding four assists. Previously in Trencin in 47 matches he scored 14 goals and added the same number of assists.
"I know that Hajduk is the biggest club in Croatia, well-known in Europe, I've heard about its glorious history and as soon as I got information that there was a chance to come here I was very happy. My ambitions are to win trophies and to create a new club history, I want to leave my mark in Hajduk" said a new forward after signing the contract.
