Our new striker Mirko Ivanovski made his first appearance for Hajduk on preparations in Slovenia in the last friendly match against Rostov. The reason for this was the rib injury he had suffered during the preparatory period in Kupres, but it didn't prevent the Macedonian striker from entering the scorers list against the Russian First League squad.
"I wanted to play this game since next week we will play Europa League qualifications and the Croatian First Leagu round 1 match. I want to catch the rhythm with the rest of the team as soon as possible, it still hurts, but in this game everything went alright and believe I'll be ready for the start of the season" Ivanovski said after the match with Rostov.
In addition to scoring a goal, he also deserves the credit for a penalty kick after a foul on him, from which Mijo Caktaš scored.
"I think we generally played very well that match against Rostov, we did not allow the opponent to play, we imposed our rhythm, we respected what the coach wanted from us through the preparations, so the overall impression is more than good. We worked very well, we played all the games very well, we won everything except one game that finished in a draw, all players played, we gave our best and I'm sure it will look good when the season begins" concluded the Macedonian striker.
