On Sunday, Hajduk will play the first away championship game and their opponent will be Varaždin. Ahead of the trip to Varaždin, head coach Damir Burić held a pre-match press conference and said:
"We talked immediately after the match with Istra, we did a lot of analysis and individual meetings with the players. We are training intensively and the atmosphere is good, we now have more training sessions, we want to develop the team and improve our game until we reach the level that can be satisfying. I would like to congratulate Varaždin on their promotion to the First League, it was obvious against Rijeka that they are a good team. We want to show what we learned from our game with Istra and I'm hoping for our good performance".
