In the Adriatic derby against HNK Rijeka that was played on Saturday at Rujevica stadium in Rijeka, Hajduk lost 2:1. Marko Futacs scored for a lead of Hajduk in the 60th minute but only six minutes later, Josip Elez scored an equalizer and then another goal for 2:1 in the 75th minute.

Head coach Marijan Pusnik spoke to the media on the post - match press conference in Rijeka:

"We started the match wrongly, we stood away from the players at the beginning of the match. After Futacs scored, we made two inexplicable errors. I wanted from my players to stand closer to their players. Rijeka punished our mistakes and scored two goals. Now we must recover from this defeat and move on. Rijeka is the best Croatian team and it is hard to oppose them. On the other hand, in comparison to our first match this season, we're a lot better team than then. However, I'm disappointed by the attitude of some players during the free kicks. At such matches as today's one, it should not be happening" said Pusnik.
