Joan Carrillo's squad failed to take all three points at Poljud against Lokomotiva, in the 34th round of the MAXtv First League. The match ended in 1:1 draw, and the equalizer for Hajduk was scored by Hamza Barry in the 87th minute. Hajduk had a great chance to win in the last seconds of the match, but Vlasic's shot from the edge of the penalty area was brilliantly defended by the goalkeeper of Lokomotiva, who saved his goal with the fingertips and brought one point to the away team from Zagreb.
"We are disappointed, we wanted all three points as in every game. Our goal is to finish the third in the league and win in both remaining games. We need to get the positive things out of this game and move on. We didn't surrender, we fought till the very end of the match, we scored an equalizer and in the end, we could have even taken all three points. Things don't always go the way we want it. We've been scoring a lot lately, but this time we didn't have luck. I hope goals will come against Inter on Saturday" said Hamza after scoring the only goal for Hajduk.
Two more matches are ahead of them, the first one against Inter Zapresic on Saturday at Poljud, kick - off 19:00 and then in the last round, Carrillo's squad will play an away match against Slaven Belupo. Captain Zoran Nizic also commented on the last-second chance in which the visiting goalkeeper managed to keep the result unchanged.
"In the end we could have won, but their goalkeeper amazingly saved his goal in the last second. I have to admit that the match was a bit difficult, they lost one player, and they squeezed even more in the second half. No one is to blame for not trying hard enough. We had to win this match, but there are still two more rounds to improve the impression".
