Hajduk signed a tripartite five-year cooperation agreement with the Croatian Institute for Physical Education and Sports and Faculty of Kinesiology in Split. The agreement, which will have three interrelated phases of cooperation, was signed by the President of Board Ivan Kos, the Dean of the Faculty of Kinesiology and interim Director of the Croatian Institute for Physical Education and Sports, Prof. Ph. D. Durdica Miletic and Deputy Dean of business and project "Education verticals in kinesiology, health and sport" doc. Ph. D. Drazen Cular.
On this occasion, President Kos stressed satisfaction with the fact that the Club turns a new page and another important step forward in building a better system and quality for Hajduk, which is aimed at ensuring better conditions for education, work and development of young players.
"The cooperation experience between Hajduk and experts from the Faculty of Kinesiology in Split has shown that together we are able to make the key steps to build a modern and professional system based on science, expertise, work and responsibility" said Kos.
The first phase of the project, i.e. Study of establishing a football academy - Sports boarding school Hajduk, should be implemented by the end of January 2017. The second includes the creation of legal basis and the system of selection of potential participants, and the third phase is focused on the resolution of the general spatial problem of boarding location.
After signing the agreement, Dean Miletic pointed out that, for Faculty of Kinesiology in Split, implementation of this project is a strategic priority which combines science, sport and education.
"We are aware of the family sacrifice and support necessary for success of young athletes. This is our contribution to show them that they are not alone, that there is a systematic concern of competent professionals, that are responsible institutions ready for long-term solutions to the problem of young athletes" concluded Miletic.
"We all know that in Croatia, there are no systematic solutions and models that enable quality education in parallel with the development of sports career of talented athletes. One of the objectives of the Project called Educational verticals in kinesiology, health and sport, is creating a model that will allow education, detection and development of sports talents regardless of the sports. The establishment of the Sports boarding school Hajduk is only one in a series of activities and specific objectives of the Faculty and the Institute, which go beyond the local level and give the project the national character" said project manager Cular.
In the next phases, depending on the needs and competencies, the participants will expand with additional employees and associates of the Faculty of Kinesiology, principals of primary and secondary schools, lawyers, jurists, economists, educators and other professionals who can contribute to this project of enormous significance for the Republic of Croatia. The establishment of the Sports boarding school Hajduk will enable systematic work and progress both in the field of sports (football), as well as in the field of education to all participants who meet the entry criteria.
