The year 2017 is coming to an end and this year, Hajduk played a total of 45 official matches and collected 26 wins, 12 draws and in seven defeats.
At home, Hajduk won 12 out of 21 matches, seven matches ended in a draw, and on two matches, they were defeated with a 49:18 goal difference, while out of 24 away matches, Hajduk celebrated 14 times, five matches ended in a draw and they lost five matches. The goal difference on the away matches is 40:22 in favor of Hajduk.
The team scored a total of 89 goals (almost two on average per game) and conceded 40 (0.88 per game). This year, Hajduk was very efficient, namely this number of scored goals has not been reached since 2010, when they scored a total of 95 goals (in 48 games). Compared to last year, Hajduk scored as many as 17 more goals.
A total of 15 players scored in 2017, the most efficient among them was Ante Erceg with 19 goals. Since 2010, Hajduk hasn't had a player who scored so many goals in a calendar year. He is followed by last season's top scorer of HT First Division, Marko Futacs, who scored 12 goals, just like Ahmed Said Said. Another striker, Franck Ohandza, joined the most successful strikers with 11 goals.
Erceg also collected the most assists in the year 2017. Ante collected as many as 13 assists, while Toma Basic, Savvas Gentsoglou and Hamza Barry follow him with seven assists each.
Hajduk played most games, seven of them, during August. The team was undefeated in February, April, July, October and December, when a total of 14 wins and six draws was achieved. In April, July and August, Hajduk recorded the highest number of wins - four.
Hajduk played nine friendly matches during 2017 and collected seven wins, one draw and one defeat, scoring 21 goals and conceding only 5.
This year, 35 players played for the first team, and the biggest number of matches in 2017 was recorded by Hamza, who played 40 games. He is followed by goalkeeper Dante Stipica who played 39, while captain Zoran Nizic and Erceg have 37 official appearances. Stipica, who played 39 matches, collected most minutes, 3,510 minutes and he is followed by Hamza with 3,184 minutes of play.
Two coaches led the team this year, Joan Carrillo 39 times and current coach Zeljko Kopic six times.
At the end of the year, we want to thank our supporters for their loyalty, they once again made Hajduk's games the most attended in Croatia by far. Overall, 217,000 spectators watched Hajduk, and if we don't count the games without the audience, this year, on average, over 12,000 people watched the matches at Poljud. We are especially proud of the children's entrance, which is adapted and decorated for young supporters of Hajduk, and the Club has provided them with a real experience of Hajduk games and a lot of fun with the official mascot Rico.
Club membership has become a means of identifying every fan, so Hajduk will end 2017 with an incredible number of 37,000 members in the current calendar year.
