Hajduk and Gornik played a friendly match in Polish Zabrze to honor the 70th birthday of Górnik. The hosts ended up as the winners and in a very exciting match with a lot of chances and nice moves the result was 3:2 for Gornik. Apart from the good match, it is worth mentioning the magnificent atmosphere that fans of both clubs made, namely 21,369 of them, who were present at Arena Zabrze.
Their chanting started already when Hajduk ran to the pitch from the dressing room, which was welcomed by the loud chanting "Hajduk Split", and the songs lasted until the final whistle when both teams were applauded for their performance.
Torcida was at an incredible level tonight. There were almost 800 Hajduk fans at the game, and they prepared a special choreorgaphy to congratulate the host and their friends from Torcida Gornik on the 70th birthday of their club.
"I would like to congratulate our hosts on their birthday and thank them for everything they have done to make everyone feel truly welcomed in these two days, from the arrival at the airport to the game itself. Everyone could enjoy good football, the atmosphere at the stadium was great. I wish them a successful continuation of the season after this international break" head coach Zeljko Kopic said at a press conference after the game. On this occasion, he was assisted by Hajduk's assistant coach Toni Golem, who spent part of his football career in Poland.
