Two young first team players Ivo Grbić (19) and Tonći Mujan (20) signed their new contracts with Hajduk.
A 19-year old goalkeeper Grbić and twenty-year old forward Mujan extended their contracts for two more years, till summer 2018.
"Our strategic goal is affirmation of young players from our Academy. Ivo and Tonći are both products of our school and an example how young player can develop in Hajduk," said Hajduk's chairman Marin Brbić.
"I'm satisfied with this contract extension and happy to be in Hajduk. This is my club, I'm playing here since I was ten, and it's natural that I want to develop here, and to meet expectations by club's management and coach. I want to thank all coaches I've been working with in Hajduk so far," said Tonći Mujan.
Mujan made a debut for the first team with Igor Tudor as a coach, in the age of 17 years and 289 days. It happened in a game against RNK Split on May 4, 2014. Since then he collected 20 caps in official games, with one goal and five assists. This season he appeared in four games, with one goal and two assists.
"Of course I want more, and Hajduk is the best way to achieve it. I will struggle for any chance I can get. We have excellent team, with lot of young players, and competition is fierce. We are in a great winning streak, and we all want to make it last as long as possible. This team is focused to play collectively, and every player in the roster wants to play, I am one of those. It's up to me to get as many minutes as possible. A fact that I was offered new contract is the sign that they believe in me, and I will do all to return that trust with plays and goals," said Mujan.
Goalie Ivo Grbić said that this contract is a strong impulse to more hard work.
"I'm overwhelmed. To be a member of Hajduk's first team is something I've been dreaming since I first time came to Poljud in the age of nine. I felt what does it mean to be Hajduk's goalkeeper, I know it's a big responsibility, but also an honor. I know I have to work hard, and I'm ready for that," said Grbić.
Young goalkeeper appeared in five games. His debut came on April 18, 2015 at Poljud against Rijeka, under Goran Vučević as a coach. In this season he only appeared in Nova Gradiška for the Croatian Cup game.
"As a goalkeeper one has to be patient, work and wait for his chance. Lovre Kalinić plays great season, and I don't have any problem with playing for Hajduk B. Any game is valuable experience and a chance to develop.
