Giorgi Iluridze joins not only the Georgian national team, but also Hajduk! The former Dila Gori attacker has just played his farewell game in Tbilisi, against Rapid Vienna. He has already arrived in Split, and the transfer was arranged well ahead of the Europa League Play-offs. Had the Georgians progressed past the Austrians, Giorgi would have nonetheless joined Hajduk, as the player has himself confirmed.

Iluridze was the sole goalscorer when Hajduk hosted his former team this past July. The Gori team's No.10 excelled also in the return leg in Tbilisi, and his excellent form was rewarded by a call up to the national team. He joins Temuri Ketsbaia's other charges for the matches with France and Finland. After the two games in Tbilisi, Giorgi is set to make his Hajduk debut in the derby against Dinamo, at Poljud on September 14.

His first statements as a Hajduk player can be expected at his official introduction on Monday morning.
