Goalkeepers' coach Tonči Gabrić had three young goalies on practices so far, Ivo Grbić (19), Dante Stipica (24) and Fabjan Tomić (20).
Croatia's national Lovre Kalinić (25) joins them on Pohorje, after having a few extra days off because of national team matches.
Gabrić is pleased so far with the goalkeepers Hajduk has.
"We definitely have the best goalkeepers in Croatia," says Gabrić, proud that national team recruits its goalies from Hajduk for years.
"Right now the national goalkeeper is Danijel Subašić who I consider one of the five best goalies in Europe. Lovre Kalinić is his natural heir, and I would dare to say that Kalinić has at least twenty percent bigger potential than Subašić. Now it's up to him to keep working and to advance," said Hajduk's goalkeepers' coach.
Next to Lovre Kalinić, each one of young goalies has his own story. Ivo Grbić collected experience through Hajduk B, and on the end of the last season he seized his oportunity in the first team. Dante Stipica started a season as the first choice, but had a lot of troubles with injuries. Now he is back in competition. Fabjan Tomić just returned from the loan in Vitez, Bosnia-Herzegovina.
"The most important for any goalkeeper's development is to have enough matches, and our guys have an oportunity to have it, at least in our B team. We don't have problems with goalkeepers, there are even some sweet worries. There are even younger than those who are now in the first team, and I like to say that Hajduk has goalkeepers for the next ten years," said Gabrić.
