Marko Futacs, last season's top striker of the HT First Division, will today join teammates and coach Zeljko Kopic on winter preparations for the second half of the season. Hajduk's number 9 has signed a new contract with the Club and is currently in the process of recovering and returning to a football pitch after the knee surgery and injury he got in August last year.
"I am delighted to be back at Poljud today with my teammates, thanks to all the people in the Club who gave me support in this difficult time. I feel great, I'm extremely pleased to be progressing. Recovery goes better than I expected, I've done a good job in recent months, which is why I'm very positive about returning" said Futacs optimistically.
Soon he should start working individually with the ball, but also get involved slowly in the process of preparing with the team.
"I'm training hard to recover as soon as possible. Soon I will start working individually with the ball, and I believe that with good work I will slowly join the team for training. In February, it will be six months since I got injured, I think that I could start with the normal trainings then".
Of course, the most important thing is to go step by step, but Marko believes he will come back stronger than ever. We believe that he will continue where he stopped, and that is scoring to opponent teams.
"I don't want to rush, it's important for my knee to recover as much as possible. Slowly but surely. I will not lose anything if it is a week longer or shorter. It all depends on how my knee will respond to all the requirements. The most important thing is to feel good, but I hope to have a normal, full intensity training with the team on my birthday (February 22) and expect to return to the pitch at the end of February or early March. I believe I'll be back stronger than ever!" said Hajduk's attacker, happy for the extension of his contract.
