It was an opening that made Franck Ohandza happy, with a goal in his first Hajduk game. This forward from Cameroon scored for a victory in the friendly match against Ried in Steyr, Austria.
"Of course I am happy because of this goal. It's always nice to win, even in a friendly match. It's very important for a forward to score in the opening game, it's good for my confidence. Beginning was great, now we have to keep up with good work. My fellow players are very young, but tallented. I'm sure we will be good in this season."
mladi, ali vidi se da su kvalitetni. Siguran sam da ćemo biti jako dobri u novoj sezoni."
Franck - that's how other players call him - fitted in quickly, it helps a lot he can speak French with Nižić and Sušić, and he also knows Pejić from their days in Sesvete.
Franck je also happy for coach Burić' positive reactions, but also because of fans' comments, everybody expect him to score as many goals as possible.
"I'll do all I can to meet those expectations. I had a problem with media comparisons with Eto'o in the beginning. I'm aware that the first association with any forward from Cameroon is Eto'o, he is my idol, too. However, I want to show what I can on a pitch, not with media talks."
Franck was delighted to learn that his family in Cameroon was able to see his first goal for Hajduk over internet.
"My parents and two sisters live in Yaounde. As soon as I let them know I scored, they saw my goal on YouTube. They were really happy about it," said new Hajduk central forward Franck Ohandza.
