Around 17:00, Hajduk squad has arrived at Mariborsko Pohorje by bus, after 8 hours of driving from Split. In Slovenia, they are having the second part of pre-season preparations and will train there for the next 12 days. Hajduk is sharing the hotel with Dinamo Bucharest, the team they shared the hotel with last year as well. The weather in Slovenia is sunny and the temperatures are much more pleasant than in Split.
Immediately upon arrival at the camp, coach Joan Carrillo took 26 players to the first training, at the training grounds that are a few minutes walk from the hotel. After the introductory part with the fitness coaches, the players hadd a 60-minute long training session.
Interestingly, the first training was also visited by the football team and the professional staff of Romanian Cluj, immediately after they ended their training at the neighboring pitch. Their assistant coach Valeri Bordeanu, a formerplayer of Unirea Urziceni, sat next to the Hajduk staff that watched the training session.
"Even today I remember the atmosphere at Poljud in 2010, when we played a decisive match for qualifying to the Europa League group stage. That was something incredible, never in my career have I experienced something like that. I played both games for 90 minutes, Hajduk really was a great opponent and I never regretted, despite the defeat, that I had the chance to feel this emotion at the stadium in Split" said Bordenau.
From tomorrow, Hajduk starts with the regular rhythm of two training sessions a day.
