Young and tallented Elvir Maloku (born on May 14, 1996) extended his contract with Hajduk till the Summer 2018.

"I am really pleased to extend my contract with Hajduk. I'm happy about it, because I like this club, and I know what I had to sacrifice to come to Split. I'm proud to be a part of the Hajduk's future, and will work hard to justify a confidence of the management," said Maloku.

Can you describe beginning of the preparations under the new head coach Damir Burić?

"It' s great that we got a coach who likes to talk with us players. Coach Burić pays a lot of attention to younger players. Beside his enormous experience and knowledge, I like his way of communication. We have a friendly relationship, and yet there is a professional distance between coach and players. It suits perfectly for me. I see that my other co-players feel the same, because atmosphere on practices is excellent, and super positive."

You were invited to join young Albania's team, but you have put that on hold?

"Yes, it's now on hold, because Hajduk is my priority at the moment. I said I want to prove myself to new coach, and to pass complete preparations to be in as good shape as possible at the beginning of the new season. I had problems with injuries lately, and it's really important for me tu get in the perfect shape before first matches," says Maloku.

This promising forward collected 21 caps in the last season, and scored three goals.
