HNK Hajduk and Association Sportive Monaco Football Club reached agreement on transfer of the 18-year-old left back David Čolina. Today, Čolina officially became a Hajduk player by signing a contract until June 30, 2023.
"By signing Čolina and previously Ivan Dolček, we have solved a left-back question for a longer period. Čolina is one of the most talented left-backs in Croatia and with him we have long-term plans, he is a young player and he will need some time to adapt but there is no need to rush. We can now say that in comparison with other Croatian clubs, we now have the best options on that position. We are satisfied that this transfer was successfully realized, it was not easy to reach agreement with Monaco, but from the starts we wanted Dolček and him and we can now be really satisfied that they became Hajduk players. They both realized that this is the club where they can develop in the right way" said Hajduk's Sports Director Saša Bjelanović.
David Čolina started his career with Hrvatski Dragovoljac and from 2009 to 2018 he was a GNK Dinamo youth academy player, from where he was transferred to Monaco FC last year. He played for all Croatian youth national teams.
"I'm happy that Hajduk recognized my talent and I hope that here I will develop it further and fulfill expectations. I came here because I saw an opportunity to improve myself and to work with young players, which is very important to me. I hope that thanks to my hard work and effort on training sessions I will get a chance to play and show everyone why Hajduk signed me. Of course, I want to start playing as soon as possible" said Čolina.
David, we wish you good luck and a lot of success with Hajduk team!
