The first team arrived in Varaždin on Saturday afternoon, some 24 hours before the kick-off of the round two game with their host NK Varaždin, the club that last season deserved promotion from the Second League. Hajduk started the cmaphionship season with a home victory over Istra 1961 and on Sunday they will try to do the same against a huighly motivated host that will be playing their first HT First League match after many years. Hajduk's midfielder Darko Nejašmić is well aware of the importance of this match:

"We are aware that the host will be really motivated, they got promoted to the First League this season and I'm sure that they will give their best tomorrow. However, we have our objectives for this match, we will try to play our game from the starts and play attacking football, with the goal to return back home with three points".

"The new coach has some new ideas and tactical plans and we were working on them this week, since we only had two training sessions together before the last game with Istra 1961. I believe that we will demonstrate it on the pitch already on Sunday".

"We highly respect our opponent but we will play attacking football, I played against them last season in the Second League with Hajduk II sand I know that they can be a tough opponent. They have good and experienced players, however, I believe that we will win this away match with the support of our fans and in that way further improve the atmpsphere in the team" concluded Nejašmić.
