Hajduk's coach Igor Tudor was satisfied after the first championship victory in 2020, immediately at the starts of the second half of the season. Hajduk beat Varaždin 3:0 in Varaždin thanks to Bassel Jradi, who scored in the 42nd minute, Mijo Caktaš, who scored from a penalty kick in the 72nd and Samuel Eduok, who also scored from a penalty in the last minute of added time. It was Tudor's first victory in the official games after he returned to the Club as Hajduk's head coach.

"I would like to congratulate my players mostly because they managed to play a game on such a bad pitch, which as a consequence make you uncertain whether the better team will win in the end. We hit three goal posts and beams, we had many more chances to score but since this was the first official game, we are really satisfied with what we saw today. We are now moving on to the preparation for the next game" said Tudor after the match in Varaždin.
