The match against Zorya was the fifth friendly game ahead of the new season. Hajduk played a great match against a really tough and combative Ukrainian team and celebrated 3:1. The goal scorers for Hajduk were Stipe Vučur, Ivan Delić and Darko Nejašmić.
"The result is not that important in these matches but of course that it's always nicer when you win. We played very well, we had many chances and scored three goals. The intensity was right, there were many duels and a lot of fight. I'm satisfied with what I saw today" said the head coach after the game.
"The team is working well on their training sessions, which is visible in these matches, especially when it comes to tactical discipline, running and playing forward, with the focus on quick re-possession of the ball. As for younger players, they are working hard and it is reflected every time when the play".
The next opponent is Rubin Kazan.
"It will be a tough match but I believe that we will continue playing good football. I'm interested to see how we will present ourselves against the team that is tactically disciplined and playing in high intensity. It will be an important information to understand better where we are some 10 days before the first official match".
The first official game will take place on July 26 against the better team from QR1 tie Ilves - Slavia. They played their first - leg match on Thursday and the Bulgarian team won 1:0.
"Assistant coach Toni Golem watched the game. First information is that Slavia was a better team for that one goal. We have all information and we are waiting for the second-leg match in seven days, but we will for sure be ready for our first Europa league game" said Željko Kopić.
