At the beginning of winter break, head coach Zeljko Kopic held a press conference at Poljud to sum up his work from when he took over coaching Hajduk's first team, which was 35 days ago. After the first half-season ended, he said:

"I'm satisfied and happy with what we achieved, but it should only be the basis for spring. We can analyze the first half of the season from two aspects, one is the result which is good, where in the last five championship rounds we collected 13 points, which is the best result in the league. We qualified for the Cup semi-finals and these results make me satisfied and proud of what we managed to accomplish in this short period. As for impressions, we have to analyze things, after which we will make final evaluations".

"We will do everything to further improve for the next half-season. Coach's wishes are one thing, and the other thing are limitations for bringing players. It's nice to be in second place, but there are always higher expectations from Hajduk, so we will not emphasize this as a success. We want to get closer to Dinamo and the first place. I work in a club with big ambitions, so the second place is not something I'm going to boast of, my goal is to further improve our placement this season or the next one. All the time, I emphasize the analysis as a basis for everything else. I have a clear picture of how Hajduk should look like and we will see how close we will get to this ideal situation".
