Rijeka and Hajduk split points in the first Adriatic Derby this season. Rijeka took the lead thanks to Jakov Puljić in the 62nd minute, and in the 87th minute Mijo Caktaš equalized from the penalty kick, after a foul on Ahmed Said Said.
"It was an extremely tough match, just what we expected. The first twenty minutes we played very well, with great energy, we won a great number of duels, but we lacked a better pass in the attack. At the end of the first half and at the start of the second half Rijeka dominated, they scored, we lost our compact but with an individual action we managed to score one goal and equalize the match from a penalty kick" among other things said head coach Željko Kopić after the match at Rujevica.
