Hajduk defeated Slask from Wroclaw, who are presently ranked first in the Polish Ekstraklasa, to wrap up the central portion of their preparations for the remainder of the season. The Whites finished four games—three victories and one tie, as well as a number of training sessions during their 12-day stay in Istria.
Following the recent game, coach Mislav Karoglan summarized the main aspects of the preparations.
- In the end, we had a formidable foe in the Polish champion, and I believe that despite the high wind, we witnessed excellent football. We didn't have enough depth, but changing player profiles and moving around isn't as easy with that. Ultimately, it matters that no one was hurt. We were able to wrap up the preparations with the triumph and head home in peace.
When asked if this is the starting lineup for the Whites' encounter against Rijeka, the coach was questioned.
- There are still some problems, but we are currently deliberating and searching for a way to solve the left flank.
He also offered his thoughts on Ivan Perišić's arrival.
- I'm happy Ivan arrived. Among the best players ever, not just for Croatia but also for Hajduk. He wouldn't consider or experience the issues on his left side if he were well. Ivan prefers not to be discussed at this time; instead, attention is now focused on the players who are present.
