Head coach Damir Burić held a pre-match press conference before the team's departure to Osijek.

"The most important thing for us is our daily focus, we want to try to repeat the good things from the match with Gorica, Hajduk can do that and the players are aware of it. We watched and analyzed Osijek, they are a good team, they could have won against Dinamo and Rijeka. Everything is possible, they are a tough opponent but we have to concentrate on our plan. Some players like Josip Bašić and Bassel Jradi have a flu, we will see if they will manage to recover before the match. Posavec and Duka are still recovering from injuries, we don't want to take any risks until they are really fit. Nejašmić and Teklić have some minor issues with injuries but we will have two more training sessions and I believe that we will have a good team in Osijek".
