Hajduk celebrated in the first leg match of the Europa League second qualifying round. In the fantastic atmosphere of the stadium in Dugopolje, Hajduk won against the Bulgarian Levski 1:0 and the final result was set thanks to Marko Futacs, who scored a goal from a penalty kick in the 24th minute. The penalty was awarded to Hajduk after a foul on Savvas inside the penalty box, and match referee Muhammed Al-Hakim awarded a penalty without hesitation.
"I'm very pleased because the players showed what I expected of them. The result is open, but it is important that we won the first half of the game and that we have not conceded a goal. This is really important for us. I am also very proud of our supporters. When we went to the field, we felt like we were in a third dimension. I would like to thank our supporters for that, they were spectacular" said coach Joan Carrillo after the first Europa League match of the new season.
