Belek: Hajduk - Vardar 1:0

Hajduk celebrated in their last friendly match on the winter camp in Belek. Today, they defeated the Macedonian champion Vardar 1:0 and with three wins successfully completed the Turkish part of the preparations. After the match, coach Joan Carrillo said:

"Vardar is a good team, the Macedonian champion who has played the Champions League qualifiers. My players were playing compact, we showed that we are a team against which it is very difficult to create a lot of chances. The goalkeepers on both sides did not have a lot of work, I think three or four interventions altogether".

The coach was pleased with the outcome of their hard work on preparations in Turkey, where the team trained intensively in order to more readily prepare for the spring part of the season:

"At the end of the fourth week of very intensive preparations, it is normal that the team is tired, they trained twice a day, the lack of freshness in the offensive part of the game is logical. The most important thing is therefore that all players recognize that we still have room for improvement and that we are on track to achieve the goals set in the physical and tactical terms. I think the team has done a lot in this direction, I'm satisfied with our training in Turkey. They worked really well during all four weeks of training process, from gathering in Split until today. We still have two more weeks of work before the first official game, we will make further progress".

After four weeks of mid-season training, the progress is already visible...

"Results in the friendly games against Dnipro (2:0), Trencin (4:2) and Vardar (1:0) are not crucial, it is important that the team is developing their game and that what we manage to show on the pitch the things that we practice every day . The important thing to me was the behavior of the team on the pitch  even if we are not leading at the start of the match. We built our game patiently and reward came in the second half. The team has took a big step forward on this winter camp in Turkey" concluded Carillo.
