As it was previously announced, Hajduk formally presented its new head coach Damir Burić, on a press conference this Monday. Burić was introduced by Hajduk chairman Marin Brbić and sports manager Goran Vučević.
"I am very proud on this, and will try to transfer all the know-how I have to Hajduk. I hope I will be able to improve the whole team on another level. The club I am coming to is very well organized, I talked with lot of people, and I can hardly wait to start on June 8. All this is great, but pitch is where I am the happiest," said Burić.
As his first tasks, Burić have pointed analysis and tests of the team.
"After that, during the summer camp in Austria and Slovenia there will be time for getting to know each other. I can only partly judge on videotapes, but I must spend some time with players to see their physical and mental condition. They are very young, and we all need to be patient, be supportive, to show them which path to take," said new coach.
He added that Hajduk must be based on a discipline, and also paid tribute to his predecessors Vukas, Poklepović, Vučević and Tudor for their work. Club is still negotiating with Burić over the rest of his coaching staff.
Chairman Brbić has revealed that Burić signed a two-year contract, but also that talks with him began almost two years ago, as Burić was always the first choice for Hajduk.
Very optimistic was also sports manager Vučević, saying that in the next season we will watch faster and better Hajduk.
